Hope and Hopelessness in the Revival Generation:Part I

Lies

Every generation realizes, in the end, that they have been lied to.

There are a few Big Lies. They’ve been around for a long, long time.

Money will make you happy.(ie give you substantial satisfaction)
Freedom/anarchy will make you happy.
Physical pleasure will make you happy.
Power will make you happy.
Relationships will make you happy.
Rebellion from all of the above and more, will make you happy.

All of these lies have spawned and continue to spawn movements. Most of these movements have degraded into either 1)Money will make you happy or 2) Happiness (ie substantial satisfaction) can never be achieved otherwise known as Despair or Hopelessness.

Every generation, and every individual who has taken the opportunity to reflect on the end of their own life has come to the realization that they have been lied to. They have not found substantial satisfaction through any of the options that they have been offered throughout their life and they have been lying to themselves and others throughout their life. Some people quickly find some other lie to believe in so that they might find substantial satisfaction before they die. Some people give in to Despair.
